Susan D’souza textile artist and lecturer based in West Sussex.

Creating textile art through a hand made layered process incorporating batik, natural dyeing, applique and embroidery . Since 2018 Susan’s practice has also included a focus on sustainable materials and natural dyes. Susan creates one of a kind pieces inspired by natural elements in Sussex landscapes and details in nature.

Reflecting the transient shifts in the changing seasons and the impact these have on the landscape, her artworks evoke a sense of peace and calm in the viewer.

Having spent many years teaching at degree level, she has an intimate understanding of her craft, and this is clearly evident in her approach and the exquisite detail rendered in each finished piece.
